Waynetown - Ray Allen Wilkinson, 8-year-old son of Charles L. and Nina Mullen Wilkinson of near Waynetown died Thursday morning at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since Wednesday. The child was born Oct 27, 1947 at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. His death came after a five-day illness. He was a second grade pupil in the Waynetown school and a regular attendant of Waynetown Baptist Church. He also was a popular vocal entertainer in the Waynetown community.
Surviving are the parents; a sister, Karen; a brother, Charles Rex; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mullen and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Mary who died in 1946. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown, followed by burial at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Rev. William L. Clark, pastor of the Waynetown Baptist Church will be the officiating minister.
